Nosttaalgia began with an unexpected turn.

Before Nosttaalgia came into being, its founder was involved in exports from Rajasthan, working across furniture, garments and costume jewellery. In 2000, drawn by the possibilities of the emerging technology boom, he left it all behind and moved to Bengaluru with the idea of building a new-age portal around a few ideas of his own.

Within months, the IT boom came crashing down.

The timing could hardly have been worse. With everyone advising against entering the technology sector at such a difficult juncture, returning to the old path was not an option either.

So the journey took an unexpected turn.

Nosttaalgia began, quite literally, from a garage in Bengaluru.

​

Starting with handicrafts and furniture familiar from Rajasthan, the fledgling venture found an immediate response. As the business grew, another opportunity became clear. There was a distinct lack of well-made teakwood furniture in the market.

​

Nosttaalgia stepped into that space.

​

What began as a small venture in a Bengaluru garage gradually grew into a furniture brand, built around teakwood, craftsmanship and customisation, and eventually expanded into complete interiors.

Twenty-five years later, the journey continues.
